If you have a TWAIN compliant scanner connected to your PC, then you need to take a look at Informatik Scan (previously known as Infothek Scan). You need to take a look at Informatik Scan because it can prove to be quite useful. You can use this software to scan documents, to edit documents, to extract text using OCR, to save scanned documents as PDF, JPEG, and other supported formats.

As the developer explained, Informatik Scan is compatible with the latest and with all recent Windows operating systems. To get Informatik Scan up and running on a Windows-powered PC you must go through a standard installation procedure. This means you will have to download an installer, run it, and then follow the onscreen instructions presented by a setup wizard.

Click the “Quick Help” button from the upper right hand corner and you will access a dialog that shows useful information on how to use Informatik Scan. If you need further assistance, click the Help button from the upper left hand side. From the Help menu you can access a User Guide in PDF format, open the FAQ section on Informatik.com, and more.

Informatik Scan is free to use for a trial period of 30 days. A prompt will remind you of this fact for the duration of the trial. A demo notice may be inserted at random when saving a file. To get rid of these limitations, you must purchase a license.

Informatik Scan is a very useful piece of software. If you have a TWAIN compliant scanner, it’s well worth a try.
